Utah Family Reunion

Brie asleep in the backpack

The hike with everyone

everyone at the pool

It was perfect weather and a wonderful time out in Utah.  We enjoyed spending time with everyone, whether it was hiking, swimming, eating or playing cards/games!  It was awesome that everyone was able to make it even with everyone's crazy busy lives.  I sure loved getting to see the nieces and nephews, especially seeing them interact with Brie.  We had a fun time and huge thank you goes out to my cousins who let us stay in their beautiful home in Midway.  They had a fantastic setup with a superb view of Mt. Timpanogos.  Her sister lives next door and they were also extremely generous in allowing us to play in their pool.  What a family reunion/vacation!!  What an amazing place...no wonder my mom has decided to move back to her hometown.

Retreat, regroup, and move forward

Maddy doesn't want to be left behind!

This weekend was crazy.  Packed up all our stuff into a UHaul, then unloaded 3/4 of it into what we thought was going to be our home for awhile and realized there were too many issues wrong, reloaded our furniture and boxes back into the UHaul and unloaded it again in a storage spot.  Cleaned the place we were living in.  Went through our stuff to pull out items in order to live for the next while in temporary accommodations.  By Tuesday evening, Mat and I were finally beginning to feel less stressed and overwhelmed and disappointed.  Back to square one...searching for a place to live.

Our previous landlord has come to our rescue.  We called her hoping that we might be able to stay in our old place a little bit longer, maybe if we were lucky until the end of the month, unfortunately the new tenants were moving in shortly after we moved out.  She generously offered to let us stay in their mother-in-law apartment that they use in the fall during hunting season for the hunters.  At first we said no, we couldn't do that, but she texted a couple more times and we were feeling so desperate that we took her up on it.  Boy, are we glad we did.  It's like a mini-vacation here and so tranquil that we really are feeling okay and things will work out.

After our dinner last night we walked down to Lake Ontario.  We were a little late for the sunset, but it was still really lovely down there.
