The sailboats are one by one emptying out of the harbor. The yacht that was docked next door has taken off for the southern parts of the states. The water was getting low and because of Hurricane Irene their 3-4 day trip through the Oswego locks (now in disrepair) will now take 10-14 days going up through Quebec and down the coast. Here's a link to the fishing yacht taking off. Our view really will be different now without it there.
It wasn't busy to begin with in this town and now in the evening hours will pass by without a car going by in front of our house! We've taken to riding our bikes around the area instead of walking. Brie loves it!
For a bit we had Maddy on her leash until she stopped suddenly to smell something and the leash walked her full force in her head. She now looks like she's had brain surgery and we've decided, for now, that it's safer for her to just trot along with us without her leash.
Now that it is getting dark earlier and earlier we've bit the bullet and actually got basic cable. It's about the same price as the new Netflix price and since we have always had issues streaming, we are dropping Netflix and will have tv. It's been at least 8 years since I've had tv in my own home. Definitely something to adjust to. So far, it has not been on 24/7. We'll see how long it takes. Hopefully that never happens. :-)
