We weren't certain if the chosen day was going to work to move Gram into her new place since a winter storm came through western North Carolina on Friday evening. But Sunday morning dawned clear and sunny and it turned out to be a beautiful moving day.
Mark moving boxes. It took only a little over an hour to get Gram's things all packed into the U-Haul. She had packed everything in advance, which made it quite simple to move her.
We've arrived!
Out the front...not a spectacular picture. We'll take more as we go and visit!
Getting settled and unpacked in Gram's new home. Mark and Sara unpacking with Gram letting them know where things belong.
Cloudy, the cat. Terrible picture, but it's nice that they allow pets. Cloudy roams the third floor and came in to hang out with Gram while we were moving her in. As soon as we would come in, Cloudy would dart out of the room.
Gram had us join her for dinner in the dining hall. They really fed us quite a feast...three courses!
We could hardly move from the table when it was time to leave.
Thanks for the post Amie. I spoke with Gram this morning, she had a GREAT nights sleep for her first night at Mars Hill Retirement Community!

ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the pictures, it makes use feel that we are part of what is going on in North Carolina.
I have talked to Gram and she seems happy to there, certainly enjoying the food.
I appreciate the help all of you gave Gram in making the move.
Love
